Through the Alberta Low Carbon Cohort, participating communities received tailored support to help move low-carbon infrastructure ideas from early planning stages toward implementation.

By connecting local governments with technical expertise, resources, and opportunities for peer learning, the program helped communities strengthen their climate action efforts and prepare for future investment opportunities.

The Alberta Low Carbon Cohort was a collaborative effort. The CRIS worked with our on-the-ground partner in Alberta, the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), to bring together municipalities, First Nations, non-profit organizations and infrastructure experts to address local priorities while contributing to broader emissions reduction goals.

Through the cohort, climate ready options reports were developed for over 5 types of local facilities in 10 Albertan communities.
