About the Role
The Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) is seeking a Housing Portfolio Manager to support the expansion of the Climate Ready Infrastructure Service (CRIS) into community housing portfolios across Canada. This role is hands on and focuses on helping nonprofit and cooperative housing providers access CRIS services through strong project scoping, onboarding support, and portfolio-level coordination. The successful candidate will be part of the CRIS delivery team and work directly with housing partners and internal program teams to deliver high-quality matches and project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, scope, and manage a portfolio of housing related CRIS matches from intake through completion.
- Support community housing providers in developing clear project needs to ensure strong matches with Roster Experts.
- Serve as the first point of contact for housing providers and experts throughout the engagement process, ensuring clear communication and smooth delivery.
- Manage submissions from housing partners, maintain CRM records, and organize applications based on asset class, climate risk, and region.
- Track project progress, obligations, work orders, and deliverables throughout the engagement.
- Support meetings, planning activities, and reporting processes with internal teams and program partners.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of CRIS processes, tools, and supports to better serve the housing sector.
Ideal Candidate
- Fluent in English and French (required) and comfortable providing bilingual support to partners and housing providers.
- 2+ years of Project Management experience.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and creativity are essential.
- Experience working with non-profit or community housing organizations, municipalities, infrastructure or grant programs.
- Knowledge of climate change mitigation and adaptation, especially in the context of municipal and non-profit housing and infrastructure projects.
- Strong project coordination, client service, and communication skills.
- Detail oriented, collaborative, and strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience with CRM management (i.e Zoho).

Work Environment
This is a flexible position (hybrid or remote) and requires the ability to work during regular business hours (i.e. 9:00am – 5:00pm ET Monday to Friday), with the ability to work flexible hours from time to time.

The Climate Ready Infrastructure Service (CRIS) provides free expert consultation to identify, assess, and evaluate practical options for climate mitigation and adaptation for housing and infrastructure in communities across Canada. The CRIS is administered by the Canadian Urban Institute, a national charity driving place-based solutions to make communities better places to live for everyone and is funded by the Government of Canada. The service is a part of the Climate Toolkit for Housing and Infrastructure, which provides a suite of open-access tools, resources, and support services to help infrastructure owners and decision-makers develop projects that build resilience and contribute to Canada's path to net-zero emissions.
